Sawai Padmanabh Singh inaugurates cultural heritage training camp

On the occasion of International Museum Day, a one-month “Cultural Heritage Training Camp” was inaugurated at City Palace. The camp was formally inaugurated by esrtwhile JAipur royal Sawai Padmanabh Singh, who lit the ceremonial lamp amidst Vedic chants. The camp will continue until 18 June and is being jointly organised by the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, Rangreet Studio, and Saraswati Kala Kendra. On this occasion, Sawai Padmanabh Singh said, “The objective of this camp is to connect youth, students, and art enthusiasts with Rajasthan’s traditional art forms, music, dance, language, and its rich cultural heritage. In the spirit of the guru-shishya tradition, both teachers and learners have come together here with the intent to teach and learn. This platform offers participants an opportunity not only to understand their art and culture but also to gain practical knowledge. This initiative is a significant step towards the preservation, promotion, and transmission of Rajasthan’s rich cultural legacy to the younger generation.” Singh also welcomed all the trainers by felicitating them with garlands. He also distributed saplings and bird feeders (parindas) to children, encouraging them to connect with and care for the environment.Camp coordinator and Vedic artist Ramu Ramdev informed that renowned artists, scholars, and trainers from across the country will provide training in various disciplines. On the occasion of International Museum Day, he also appealed to everyone to contribute towards the preservation of tourist sites and museums and to ensure that no damage is caused to them. Particiapnst can learn various arts like Kathak and folk dance under Dr Jyoti Bharti Goswami, traditional painting and miniature art will be conducted by Ramu Ramdev, Hemant Ramdev, and Babulal Marothia, and Dhrupad will be taught by Dr. Madhu Bhatt Tailang. There will be classes for portrait and sketching, Aala-Gila and Araish techniques, drama and Vedic astrology too. In addition, the special weekend workshops will include: Calligraphy, Textile block printing, Dhundhari language sessions and flute training.
