Kochi: The five-day Edapally Film Festival is set to commence on Wednesday, bringing a rich line-up of daily seminars and movie screenings to film enthusiasts in the city. The festival is jointly organised by Metro Film Society, Kochi, and Edapally-based Changampuzha Cultural Centre.
The event will witness the participation of several prominent film personalities, with noted directors
Lal Jose and
Kamal attending the festivities. The opening day features a diverse screening schedule, starting with Meghamalhar at Ernakulam Sangeetha Theatre at 10am, followed by It Was Just An Accident at Kannan Nair Smaraka Cultural Centre in Kaloor, and concluding with Karutha Pakshikal at Changampuzha Park at 7pm.
Over the subsequent days, audiences can look forward to an eclectic mix of acclaimed cinema. Day 2 will showcase Malavaazhi, Raincoat, and Perumazhakalam. The third day features Beyond Hatred and Power, We Keep Singing, Vertigo, The Lunchbox, and Record Dance, while Day 4 highlights classics and contemporary hits like Celluloid, Charulata, and Ulladakkam.
The festival will culminate on Sunday with a grand valedictory function at Changampuzha Park at 6pm, where veteran director Kamal will be formally honoured. The closing ceremony will be a star-studded affair attended by directors Sibi Malayil, B Unnikrishnan and
Aashiq Abu. Renowned actors Manju Warrier, Bhavana, Soubin Shahir, Sidharth Bharathan, Shine Tom Chacko, and screenwriter-actor Renji Panicker will also be present as chief guests.
