Madhya Pradesh police team returns after failing to trace viral Kumbh Mela girl

Kochi: A Madhya Pradesh police team that recently reached Kochi to conduct a probe relating to the controversial marriage of a girl, who went viral on social media after a video shot during the Kumbh Mela, has left the state.The four-member team, led by a sub-inspector, returned even though they couldn't trace the girl and her husband. Madhya Pradesh police were investigating a case of abduction registered back home by her parents who claimed that she is a minor. The girl, meanwhile, sought protection via email to various offices. City police also informed Madhya Pradesh police about the high court order preventing the arrest of the woman's husband. Meanwhile, sources said that the Madhya Pradesh team returned temporarily, and they would decide on further action based on the high court order.
