Daughter-in-law killed son: Man

Kolkata: Sinthi police have started a murder probe after a father alleged his 43-year-old son was tortured and killed by his wife, who then hurriedly cremated him. Subhashis Chakraborty, a former medical representative who lost his job during the pandemic, had lived for seven years with wife Debika Saha (42), at her family home on Satra Para Lane, north Kolkata.His father, Kamal Kumar Chakraborty of Ultadanga, told police thta Debika abruptly informed him that Subhashis died on Wednesday and was cremated that night at Ratan Babu Ghat. Police have registered a case under BNS Sections 103(1) and 238(a).Police said Subhashis had a neurological ailment and had been self-medicating. A local doctor had advised hospitalization on June 9 after finding very low blood pressure. Debika said Subhashis was found unresponsive on Wednesday afternoon. Police are examining witnesses and conducting forensic tests.
