Kunhalikutty likely to contest from Malappuram

Kozhikode: Candidates of IUML for upcoming assembly election is likely to be announced on Tuesday, with discussions on final list entering the last stage.Consultations with party leaders were held in Malappuram on Monday. IUML state president Panakkad Sadikali Shihab Thangal and Malappuram district president Abbasali Shihab Thangal met state office-bearers individually to gather their opinions on candidate selection in Malappuram.On Tuesday, they are expected to meet district leaders, after which candidate list is likely to be formally announced.According to sources, P K Kunhalikutty will contest from Malappuram assembly constituency and K M Shaji is being considered for Vengara. N Shamsudheen is expected to continue in Mannarkkad and P K Basheer at Edavanna and Manjalamkuzhi Ali at Mankada. tnn
