‘Oppn shedding crocodile tears in Ambedkar’s name’: BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh
Lucknow: Marking the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, a seminar was organised in Sarojini Nagar under the “Samman Abhiyan 2026,” where BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh emphasised that fulfilling duties alongside rights is the true tribute to Babasaheb.Addressing the gathering, Singh said April 14 symbolises justice, equality, and empowerment, urging youth to prioritise education and remain vigilant against injustice. He highlighted initiatives in Sarojini Nagar, including women’s empowerment through over 150 “Tara Shakti Kendras” and the introduction of smart classes and computers in govt schools.Targeting opposition parties, Singh alleged that the Samajwadi Party and Congress were “shedding crocodile tears” in Ambedkar’s name. He claimed that past regimes undermined Dalit icons, while the current government under Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath is working to realise Ambedkar’s vision through inclusive development.BJP leader Tryambak Tripathi and SC Commission member Neeraj Gautam also addressed the event, stressing equality and social harmony.Copies of Ambedkar’s work “Jaat-Paat Ka Vinash” were distributed, with participants resolving to build an equitable society based on his ideals.
