UP Police constable exam from today: 28.86 lakh applicants to vie for 32,679 posts
Lucknow: The written examination for the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable (Civil Police) Direct Recruitment-2025 will commence on Monday, with nearly 28.87 lakh candidates set to compete for 32,679 vacancies over three days across the state.The examination will be conducted on June 8, 9 and 10 in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. According to the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), a total of 28,86,797 candidates have applied for the recruitment drive.To facilitate the examination, authorities have established 1,183 examination centres across the state. The test will be conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift will run from 10 am to noon, while the second shift will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm. Candidates will also be provided an additional five minutes beyond the stipulated examination duration to complete necessary formalities.Given the massive scale of the recruitment exercise, more than 4.81 lakh candidates are expected to appear in each shift.Director General of the Recruitment Board, SB Shiradkar, said extensive preparations have been made by the police, district administration and other concerned agencies to ensure the smooth, secure and transparent conduct of the examination.
Special arrangements have been put in place for candidate verification and entry management at examination centres.Authorities have placed emphasis on maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process. All centres will be monitored through CCTV surveillance, while static magistrates, observers and adequate police personnel have been deployed to oversee the proceedings.Additional security measures have been implemented at sensitive centres, and special arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in the vicinity of examination venues.
