2 held for selling land allotted for police station in Meerut
Meerut: Two persons were arrested for illegally encroaching on and selling govt land worth Rs 20 crore that had been allotted for the anti-corruption police station in Modipuram area, police said on Thursday.The arrested accused were identified as Ankush Kumar (37), director of Chandrapal Associates, and Ajay Chaudhary, a key conspirator. Two other accused remain absconding.Pallavpuram SHO RC Sharma said an FIR was registered on July 18, 2025, following a complaint by lekhpal Harveer Singh. The case was filed against Ashish Gupta and Aditya Gupta of Madhur Infra Developers, along with Ankush Kumar and Siddharth Pawar of Chandrapal Associates. The accused allegedly sold 50–60 hectares of land under the names Madhur Enclave and Pallav Vihar Colony.Confirming the arrests, Meerut SP (city) Ayush Vikram Singh said, "We have arrested two key accused in the case. Strong evidence has been gathered, and a further probe is on. Raids are being conducted to nab the remaining accused."
