DARBHANGA: BJP MP Kirti Azad seeems to have come under flak for attending Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee’s public meeting in Kolkata recently against the creation of the new East Central Railway zone at Hajipur.
Former MP and national general secretary of RJD, MAA Fatmi, while talking to newsmen at Darbhanga Club, demanded that Azad should seek apology from the people of the state for attending Mamata’s rally.
By joining the Kolkata rally, Azad has gone against the interests of the state, alleged Fatmi, adding that it amounted to letting down “the people of Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency.
The Darbhanga town president of RJD, Gopal Mandal announced that party cadres would hold a protest demonstration when Azad came to Darbhanga next.
Mandal alleged that by attending the rally, Azad had supported Mamata’s argument.
Leaders of the Lok Janshakti Party including national general secretary, Ram Shankar Sahni, town working president Pankaj Jaiswal and others have also criticised Azad on this issue.
