Maharashtra on Sunday crossed the one crore-mark in Covid-19 vaccination, touching 1,00,38,421 doses, the highest by any state. The state’s target population is an estimated three crore. It means 5 crore doses are yet to be given (two per person). Maharashtra recorded its worst-ever single-day infections at 63,294 taking its total tally of cases to 34.07 lakh. It also reported 349 deaths, the fifth straight day when fatalities have crossed 300. A total of 12,377 cases were reported on Sunday in the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR), taking the tally to 6,48,393.
