Dumka: Seven people, including five young adults and two juveniles, were sent to judicial custody in connection with the gang-rape of a 13-year-old girl in Pakur district, police said on Sunday.
The incident occured on May 16 around 8:30 pm. The survivor’s family registered an FIR with the local police station on Sunday afternoon under sections of the
POCSO Act. A
special investigation team was constituted to crack the cases. Pakur superintendent of police Anudeep Singh, in a press statement, said, "All the seven accomplices involved in the crime were apprehended within 4 hours after the FIR was instituted on Sunday afternoon." However, the police did not disclose the details of the crime and the sequence of events.
The police said the accused were apprehended from their hideouts using scientific, human, and technical evidence.
