SALEM: The Salem Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organised a one-day professional programme on Tuesday in Salem, with around 100 members, students and corporates participating.
M Harish, Chairman of the Salem Chapter, delivered the welcome address and spoke about the chapter’s ongoing efforts to promote professional excellence and knowledge sharing among members and students.
R Sridharan, Past President of ICSI, attended as Chief Guest and addressed the gathering on the evolving role of governance professionals. S. Jayanthi, Principal of Sakthi Kailash College for Women, was the Special Guest and shared her insights with the participants.
During the programme, the 25th edition of the Salem Chapter’s e-newsletter was released by the Chief Guest, Special Guest and Managing Committee Members.
The event also marked the celebration of International Women’s Day, during which women members were recognised for their contributions to the profession. More than 25 students who had cleared the recent examinations were felicitated for their academic achievements.
The technical sessions included a presentation by R. Sridharan on “Independent Directors and Corporate Governance,” followed by a session by A. Mohan Kumar, who shared practical insights. The final session was delivered by B. Karthik.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by B. Akilan, Secretary of the Salem Chapter.
