Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, has tested positive for Covid-19, Mizoram health minister Dr R Lalthangliana said.
Lalthangliana, in an official statement on Tuesday, said the patient was admitted to the ICU in St George's Hospital where she did not show any Covid-19 symptoms, prompting doctors to draw nasopharyngeal swab for further tests, following which she was shifted to a private ward from the ICU.
Mizoram chief secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo contacted both the Maharashtra government officials as well as officials of the Mizoram House in Mumbai, following which the circuit house was sprayed with disinfectants.
Forty-eight people, including 16 cancer patients, are in the Mizoram House and the Mumbai Municipal Corporation authorities initiated tests on 22 people - cancer patients and the people staying in the dormitory where the Covid-19-infected person was staying - by taking nasopharyngeal swab samples.
