Trichy: School education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi on Saturday said that Trichy has historically proved to be a turning point for the DMK, expressing confidence ahead of the party's upcoming state-level conference in the district.
Inspecting the venue at Siruganur, where the conference is scheduled to be held in the second week of March, the minister told reporters that all arrangements were being made on a grand scale. The conference, expected to draw more than 10 lakh participants, will be held on Mar 9 and will be addressed by party president and chief minister M K Stalin.

Mahesh said the DMK is intensifying its preparations as the assembly election approaches, with a series of conferences planned to strengthen the party organisation. "Whenever the DMK holds a major conference in Trichy ahead of elections, it has always marked a turning point for the party," Mahesh said.
