Vadodara: Four persons including the vice president of the Vadodara district unit of the
BJP were booked for celebratory firing during a marriage procession.
The offence was registered after investigations into a video that had gone viral for the past couple of days.
The viral video showed at least three persons firing from rifles during a wedding procession.
The video was said to be from Angadh village near the city. The Nandesari police started investigation.
Police were able to confirm that the firing had taken place on Tuesday during the wedding of Dharmendrasinh Gohil’s son Yuvrajsinh in Angadh. An offence was registered and four persons – Harpalsinh Gohil, Yogpalsinh Gohil, Ghanshyamsinh Gohil and Dharmendrasinh – were made accused. The police arrested Dharmendrasinh and Harpalsinh. The two accused who are yet to be arrested include Yogpalsinh, son of former MLA and former state minister late Upendrasinh Gohil. Yogpalsinh is VP of district unit of BJP. tnn
