Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) is accelerating the establishment of five electric vehicle charging stations for
APSRTC buses in Nellore, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool and
Tirupati districts at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crore.
APSPDCL chairman and managing director Shivashankar Lotheti reviewed the progress of the works through a video conference from the corporate office on Friday with Superintending Engineers of the respective districts, APSRTC officials and contractors. Speaking during the review meeting, Shivashankar Lotheti said APSPDCL was setting up EV charging stations at Nellore, Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool and Mangalam to support the operation of RTC electric buses in the region. He directed contractors to give priority to quality while executing the works and complete the projects by June 20 this year in coordination with APSPDCL and APSRTC officials.
He instructed contractors to immediately bring any obstacles in execution to the notice of the concerned circle Superintending Engineers and resolve issues without delay to ensure the timely completion of the projects. Director (Projects & IT) P Ayub Khan, Director (Technical & HRD) K Guravaiah, chief general manager K Sampath Kumar, general manager Jagadeesh, Superintending Engineers Raghavendram, Sheshadri Sekhar, Pradeep Kumar and Chandrasekhar, along with RTC regional managers and contractors, participated in the meeting.
