Vijayawada: Revenue minister Anagani Satya Prasad warned that stringent action will be taken against officials found colluding in land dispute cases. Replying to queries in the Assembly on Wednesday, he revealed that 32,970 revenue cases are currently pending across the state.
Explaining the surge, the minister said only four cases were pending till 2005, rising to 204 between 2006–2010, 1,809 during 2011–2015, and sharply to 17,291 between 2016–2020. From 2021–2025, 12,434 cases were pending, while 1,228 cases have already been registered in 2026.

He said corrective measures were initiated after the coalition govt assumed office to streamline revenue administration and reduce litigation.
As a result, newly registered cases have come down significantly. To expedite disposal, liaison officers were appointed at the district level, and legal cells were constituted under district collectors to ensure faster resolution of court matters.
The department is also using the Andhra Pradesh Online Litigation Case Management System portal to monitor and handle disputes, improving coordination between officials and government pleaders.
Satya Prasad stressed that irregularities in handling land disputes will not be tolerated. Officials found tampering with records or influencing cases will face strict disciplinary action. He added that action has already been initiated against certain officials, reaffirming the government's commitment to transparent, efficient, and time-bound resolution of revenue and land disputes.
