Visakhapatnam: Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) president Sarat Chandra Reddy emphasised the importance of nurturing young talent, enhancing infrastructure and providing ample opportunities for players to excel. He was speaking at the ACA’s Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) here on Sunday night.
The AGM formed various committees for the growth of the sport at grassroots level and to ensure effective administration.
Cricket advisory committee, selection committees, and the disabled committee were constituted. Daily wagers who have dedicated more than five years of service will now get permanent employment status.
The governing council of the Andhra Premier League appointed Moncho Ferer to oversee the league's affairs.
Secretary Gopinath Reddy added that they must remain committed to the development of cricket.
APL-2 auction todayThe auction for Andhra Premier League (APL) Season 2, conducted by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) is scheduled to be held here on Tuesday. The T20 tournament runs from August 16 to 27.
The entire tournament would be telecast live. Matches are scheduled for 12 noon and 5 pm starts daily. Season 2 will see six teams in action — Coastal Riders, Bezawada Tigers, Vizag Warriors, Rayalaseema Kings, Marlin Godavari Titans and KVR Uttarandhra Lions.
ACA secretary Gopinath Reddy, treasurer AV Chalam, CEO Venkata Siva Reddy and other members of the APL Governing Council will be present at the auction, which will be conducted by Charu Sarma.
