The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to declare the Class 12 results for the 2026 academic session by April 30. The board has already completed the evaluation process using an on-screen marking system. This digital method helps maintain uniformity, reduces errors, and speeds up the overall result preparation process.Where and how to check resultsStudents will be able to access their results through multiple platforms. Official websites include results.cbse.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. In addition, results will also be available on DigiLocker, SMS services, and the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG). These alternatives are useful during heavy website traffic or limited internet access.Exam schedule and next stepsThe CBSE Class 12 examinations were conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026. Students who fail to clear one or more subjects will have the option to appear for compartment exams in July 2026. The results for these exams are expected in the first week of August.Marksheet and passing criteriaThe online result will be provisional. Students will receive original mark sheets and passing certificates from their respective schools later. To pass, students must secure at least 33% marks in both theory and practical exams separately wherever applicable. CBSE will continue its policy of not releasing a toppers’ list to reduce academic pressure.Previous years’ trends and statisticsCBSE has maintained a stable pass percentage in recent years. The overall pass percentage was 92.71 percent in 2022, 87.33 percent in 2023, 87.98 percent in 2024, and 88.39 percent in 2025. Girls have consistently outperformed boys, with higher pass percentages every year. The number of high scorers has shown slight fluctuations. The Trivandrum region dominated between 2020 and 2024, while Vijayawada recorded the highest pass percentage in 2025. These trends provide context for expectations from the 2026 results.
