India Sends More Warships To Escort Ships Through Battle-Hit Strait Of Hormuz

Amid rising instability in West Asia, India has ramped up its naval presence in the Gulf of Oman to protect its fuel lifelines passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil artery. With tensions surging after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, shipping in the region has been severely disrupted. Government sources say New Delhi is coordinating to ensure safe transit for Indian-flagged vessels, even as several ships remain stranded near the chokepoint. The Indian Navy has increased deployments to up to seven warships, actively escorting tankers and monitoring high-risk zones. The move underscores India’s urgent push to secure energy routes and protect its maritime interests.
