Bengaluru: A bike stolen from KSR Bengaluru parking lot more than two months ago was recovered by Railway Protection Force (RPF) Thursday. They also apprehended a man who allegedly stole the bike, valued at almost Rs 1.2 lakh.
Rakesh Chandran (name changed), a resident of Jakkur, reached the station on his Hero XPulse motorcycle, which has a Tamil Nadu registration, on the morning of March 19 and parked it near the main entrance of the station. On returning to the parking lot the same evening, he realised his bike was missing.
Following his complaint, govt railway police (GRP), Bengaluru division, registered an FIR under Section 303(2) of BNS. RPF and GRP personnel retrieved CCTV footage from cameras at the station and at traffic rooms.
During their probe, they were unable to track the thief or the bike until they received a tipoff Thursday. Based on inputs provided by Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB), the investigation team traced the suspect, identified as
Suresh, 35, with the stolen bike in Cottonpet.
Suresh, hailing from a village in Ballari district, confessed to the crime during interrogation. Officials stated they are investigating whether Suresh was involved in similar incidents in Bengaluru in the past.
