A gang of five was arrested on Tuesday for getting a house registered in their name and taking a loan of Rs 40.8 lakh by faking documents.

BANGALORE: A gang of five was arrested on Tuesday for getting a house registered in their name and taking a loan of Rs 40.8 lakh by faking documents.
The arrested are B R Bhaskar, B R Umesh, Vasantha, Arun, Munesh and Madhava Murthy. Their crime came to light after the real house owner in Jayanagar 4th 'T' Block, Ravikala, approached the sub-registrar's office to get encumbrance certificate.

The sub-registrar's office told Ravikala that Bhaskar and Umesh are owners of the property.
Police said the duo fabricated the property documents by affixing a photograph of Vasantha, who pretended to be Ravikala at the sub-registrar's office during the registration process.
The duo used the same documents to take a bank loan.
