KR Pura, Whitefield roads in Bengaluru to be closed next week
Bengaluru: With South Western Railway (SWR) set to replace the concrete slab at Lowry Road underbridge (RUB) near KR Pura railway station, several major roads in and around the area will be closed next week. The stretch leading towards Ramamurthy Nagar and ITI Colony through the RUB will be closed from June 4 (Thursday) till June 9 (Tuesday). Commuters have been advised to use KR Pura cable-stayed bridge to reach ITI Colony, Ramamurthy Nagar and KR Pura during this period.Parts of KR Pura-Whitefield stretch will also remain closed. While commuters have been directed to use the cable-stayed bridge to reach ITPL and Whitefield, SWR officials clarified only one kilometre of the stretch from KR Pura will remain closed.Additionally, a 500-metre section of ITPL Main Road will remain closed for 12 hours from 6pm on June 7 (Sunday) till 6am on June 8 (Monday). SWR officials said the timing has been chosen to minimise the impact on commuters travelling to work Monday as the corridor houses major tech parks.During this period, traffic will be diverted through a temporary road that will be provided near the RUB.
