2 gamblers held from Sundargarh
Rourkela: Bhasma police in Sundargarh district conducted a raid in Kinjirima forest area on Saturday night and arrested two persons of Sambalpur district, for allegedly organising and facilitating gambling. The arrests were announced on Sunday.The arrested duo was identified ax Rajesh Turi (37), Niranjan Toppo (48), both of Bamra police station area of Sambalpur districtDuring the operation, police seized Rs 1.76 lakh in cash, believed to be connected to gambling activities, a car, along with dice and other gambling materials, was also recovered from the spot.Following the raid, a case was registered at Bhasma police station under relevant provisions of law. The arrested duo was taken into custody, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the gambling network and identify any other persons involved.
