GUWAHATI: Two minors were killed in a suspected rocket attack at their home at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai in
Manipur’s Bishnupur district Tuesday early morning.
According initial reports, the explosion occurred at around 1:05am.
The two children were sleeping with their mother when the incident occurred.
The victims have been identified as a five-year-old boy and his five-month-old sister.
Their mother sustained injuries in the attack and survived.
The mother is admitted to a private hospital and is in ICU.
The father works in CISF and is currently posted in Bihar. The mother works as a nurse in Guwahati. She had come to Manipur for a religious function.

“In the early hours this morning, I rushed to Raj Polyclinic to personally assess the condition of the injured mother who tragically lost her two children in last night’s barbaric attack. I have directed the authorities to ensure she receives the highest standard of medical care and all necessary support,” the chief minister said.
Terming the incident an “outright assault on humanity,” Singh said the attack was a deliberate attempt to derail the hard-earned peace in Manipur.
“I condemn this heinous act in the strongest possible terms,” he stated.
The chief minister issued a stern warning to those responsible, asserting that they would not escape justice.
“Let there be no doubt — those behind this crime will be identified, hunted down, and dealt with firmly under the law. Such acts of terror will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” Singh said.
