Plug leaks in revenues, Bhatti tells officials

Hyderabad: To promote the state’s economic development, deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu directed all departments to focus on mobilising additional revenue in line with the current financial year’s budget. A high-level meeting of the “Resource Mobilisation Cabinet Sub-Committee” was held on Friday.During the meeting, the finance minister emphasised the need to eliminate revenue leakages and fully utilise available sources to meet budget targets for 2026–27. He required all departments to adhere to a strict timeline and mandated weekly review meetings every Friday.Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy called for strict action against illegal activities harming the State’s finances. Officials noted that revised market values for land registration will take effect on May 28, which is expected to increase revenues for the registration department. They also confirmed that the “HILT Policy Guidelines” for the Industries department have been finalised, with orders to be issued soon.The ministers reviewed the current resource mobilisation progress and future revenue targets for key departments, including municipal administration & urban development (MA&UD), HMDA, industries, registrations, mining, revenue, and transport.
