A team consisting of a dozen policemen had intercepted his luxury Audi car which he had stolen from Shyam Nagar last month. He was heading towards a colony in Sidharth Nagar to visit a house. “As soon as he entered the colony, our teams followed him. He spotted the cops and took a reverse at high speed and rammed his car into our vehicle,” said deputy commissioner of police (crime) Vikas Pathak.
The crime branch sleuths then ran towards Chaudhary’s car, snatched the keys and apprehended him. “His stolen Audi was damaged in the crash and he has sustained some injuries. We have also recovered a firearm from the vehicle,” Pathak told TOI.
The police vehicle was also badly damaged in the crash; however, no one was injured. Police said that he had come to the area to meet his friends and had planned to go to a bar later in the evening.
The crime branch team comprised of Mukesh Choudhary, Bhura Ram, Dharam Singh, Manendra and Avinash. Chaudhary is wanted by Sanaganer police in multiple cases. On August 15, he had opened fire outside a leading hotel near Sahkar Marg after he was denied entry into the club.

A few days later, on August 30, he made a daredevil escape after a team of special operations group (SOG) attempted to nail him from Panchbati area in the city. He rammed his car into SOG’s SUV and fled from the area. “We were lucky that he could not reach out for his firearm,” said an official.
DCP Pathak said the culprit has been handed over to the Jawhar Cricle police station along with his mobile phones. “He is a notorious criminal who had been evading arrest by getting the better of policemen. He will be quizzed by the Sanaganer police. He has several cases pending against him,” said an official.
