Kanpur: The even semester examinations for Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) began on Saturday, with 6,918 students appearing in two shifts for a total of 137 papers.
According to the university, in the first shift for second semester, 5,104 students appeared for a total of 106 papers. In the second shift, examinations for 31 papers for the sixth semester were held, with 1,814 students in attendance.
The university also said that 40 students did not appear in the even semester examinations.
Examination controller, B P Singh, said that the examinations were conducted under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. He added that a control room was established at the campus’s computer center, from where the examinations for both shifts were monitored via CCTV cameras. Flying squads also conducted surprise inspections of the examination centers.
Additionally, invigilators were deployed across all centers. During these inspections, the team visited the classrooms and conducted thorough searches of the students. They reported that not a single student was caught cheating.
