Kozhikode teen murder: Cops recover three phones
Kozhikode: Police on Tuesday, investigating the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Moozhikkal, recovered three mobile phones, including that of her and the accused, from a well at the victim's house. Nasreena, daughter of Nisar and Ramseena of Poothamkuzhi in Moozhikkal East, was allegedly murdered by Adnan (20), her maternal cousin at her house. Adnan was later found dead in the house in a suspected suicide. Chevayoor police retrieved the phones with the assistance of the Vellimadukunnu fire force. Of the three mobile phones, one belonged to Nasreena, one to Adnan and the third was a mobile phone used by the family. Police said the motive behind the phones being thrown into the well would be revealed after they are examined scientifically. Statements from family members will be recorded in this regard. However, police could not question them immediately as the girl's final rites was held in Ponnani on Wednesday. Investigators had identified that the phones went missing on the day of the incident itself and had conducted searches in the house premises. The devices will be examined with the help of the cyber cell, which will attempt to retrieve deleted messages and other data.
