Sarmad said the team wants to do their bit to help people affected by floods in Chennai. "We can help people there as we have the expertise in conducting rescue operations in water. We could have left for Chennai earlier, but we do not have the financial resources to fund our trip. We have written to Bokaro DC Manoj Kumar, requesting him to make arrangements to send us there."
They have risked their lives in the past and have been monetarily rewarded by the district administration. There are a number of Bokaro residents who were trapped for the past few days in Chennai and surrounding areas after heavy floods brought the city to a standstill.
