Meghalaya NHM delegates review Anaemia Mukt Bharat strategies in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: A delegation from Meghalaya National Health Mission (NHM) reviewed the ongoing strategies being adopted by the Andhra Pradesh health department under the Anaemia Mukt Bharat programme on Monday.The NHM delegation, led by Dr Noverina Marak, Badonder Shilla, and others, visited a high school and an urban health centre in Mangalagiri on Monday. On Tuesday, the team is scheduled to visit anganwadi centres and primary health centres.Further, Meghalaya held a special meeting with the programme implementation and monitoring officers of the health and family welfare department (NHM) and gathered detailed information from them.The team enquired in detail about the distribution of syrups and tablets, and other measures being taken under the Anaemia Mukt Bharat programme to reduce anaemia among pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls, and students. Andhra Pradesh is among the top states effectively implementing this initiative.
