Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the West Bengal CID and underwent nearly six hours of questioning in the alleged signature forgery case linked to the appointment of the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly. The investigation follows complaints by two expelled TMC legislators who alleged that key party documents were fabricated and signatures were manipulated. CID officials are seeking original records for forensic examination as the politically sensitive probe gathers momentum.
