Tarunjyoti Tewari of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the Rajarhat Gopalpur Assembly Constituency No. 117, defeating Aditi Munshi of the All India Trinamool Congress.
Rajarhat Gopalpur is a general category constituency in North 24 Parganas, part of the Dum Dum Lok Sabha seat. It covers the rapidly urbanising Rajarhat-Gopalpur Municipality near New Town. In 2026, sitting TMC MLA Aditi Munshi contests against BJP's Tarun Jyoti Tiwari.
In 2021, Aditi Munshi won the seat with 87,650 votes, defeating BJP's Samik Bhattacharya by 25,296 votes. In 2016, TMC's Purnendu Basu held the seat with 72,793 votes, beating CPI(M)'s Nepaldeb Bhattacharjee by 6,874 votes. In 2011, Basu had won by a much larger margin of 35,725 votes. The seat's urbanisation trajectory has broadly favoured TMC, and Munshi's first-term incumbency makes this a solid TMC hold in 2026.
