Sulthan Bathery assembly results: Congress’s I C Balakrishnan wins Sulthanbathery seat, defeats CPI(M)’s M S Viswanathan by 16,597 votes

I C Balakrishnan of Congress secures Sulthanbathery with 78,936 votes, beating CPI(M)’s M S Viswanathan.Sulthan Bathery, also in Wayanad, has around 2 lakh voters and a mixed demographic of urban and rural populations.In the 2021 polls, CPI(M) candidate P. V. Anwar defeated UDF candidate by a margin of about 2,000 votes. BJP remains relatively weak here.
