Apple may expand ‘Ultra’ branding to iPhone, MacBook: Report
Apple may be planning to expand its ‘Ultra’ lineup this year. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has previously reported on the company’s ambitions to expand its ‘Ultra’ lineup’. Now, a report by Macworld (via 9to5Mac) says that Apple’s foldable iPhone and touchscreen MacBook Pro will be named ‘iPhone Ultra’ and ‘MacBook Ultra’, adding that the products may debut as early as this year. “Apple is rumored to be introducing one of the biggest upgrades to the iPhone lineup ever this year, with the debut of its first foldable phone. While many members of the press have taken to calling this device the “iPhone Fold,” Macworld has received information that corroborates reports that Apple will instead opt for the “Ultra” brand for its new iPhone model,” the report said.“According to a source familiar with Apple’s plans, the company seems set on expanding its Ultra branding with the new flagship iPhone arriving this fall. Furthermore, our source says Apple is also likely to bring the Ultra branding to the Mac as well,” it added.To recal, Apple introduced its ultra lineup with Apple Watch Ultra that was unveiled September 7, 2022 alongside Apple Watch Series 8.

Apple iPhone Ultra: What to expect

Said to debut alongside iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the iPhone Ultra is rumoured to have a book-style fold with crease-free display. The device may feature a 5.5-inch outer screen and 7.8-inch inner display.
The handset may be equipped with A20 Pro chip and C2 cellular modem, running on custom iOS 27 for side-by-side apps. It may have a main and ultra-wide rear cameras, along with a front camera on each display.The ultra iPhone may feature a Touch ID integrated in the power button.

Apple MacBook Ultra: What to expect

MacBook Ultra, on the other hand, is said to be the speculated M6 MacBook Pro. It is expected to come with a new industrial design, Dynamic Island instead of a notch, and possibly a C2 cellular modem. Key design features include touch-enabled OLED display.
