4 killed and 12 critically injured in a detonators cum cylinder blast in Andhra Pradesh
Devastating gas cylinder explosion tragically claimed at least three lives in Andhra Pradesh
TIRUPATI: Four persons were killed and more than 20 persons sustained injuries in a detonators cum LPG cylinder blast reported at a house at Kummaravandla Palli at Kadiri mandal in Sri Sathya Sai district on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Mahabunnisa, P Viswanatha Reddy and Aslam Basha. The condition of 12 among the injured was said to be critical and they have been rushed to the govt hospital at Kadiri. According to preliminary investigation by the police, several detonators used for quarry blasting were reported to be illegally stacked up at the house where the blast was reported earlier today. Four adjacent houses were also reduced almost to a rubble in the blast. The intensity of the blast was so severe that the bodies of the victims turned into mounds of flesh scattered everywhere and were not recognisable. Kadiri police rushed to the spot after learning about the incident along with the fire services personnel and initiated measures to shift the injured to the hospital.Forensic and clues teams have also reached the incident spot.
