Haryana sacks official in Rs 593 cr bank fraud case
Chandigarh: Haryana govt on Friday sacked Naresh Kumar Bhuwani, superintendent of panchayat development department, for alleged connivance in the Rs 593 crore bank fraud involving govt department funds.ACS-panchayats Vijjender Singh issued the dismissal order, which says Naresh not only lost his job but also any chance of getting re-employed with Haryana govt. He was the first govt official to be arrested in the case and is lodged in Ambala jail.This action reflects the Nayab Singh Saini govt's zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, said a govt spokesperson.A native of Charkhi Dadri, Naresh lives in Mohali. The anti-corruption bureau, which arrested him on Feb 28, says he received funds directly from Swastik Desh Project, a firm through which govt money was siphoned.The dismissal order details how Naresh, his wife and children got crores in cash and kind from the alleged shell companies. He is accused of transferring Rs 1 crore govt funds through a private agency to his bank account, Rs 10 lakh to his daughter's account, and Rs 25 lakh to buy a Fortuner. MSID:: 130495384 413 |
