Hisar: In a shocking incident reported from Sector-13 of Hisar on Friday evening, a man allegedly murdered his wife following a domestic dispute. According to preliminary information, the accused attacked the woman with an electric iron and later strangled her to death.36-year-old Sonia, a resident of Sant Nagar, married Saurabh, a resident of Sector-13, about eight years ago. The couple has a 6-year-old daughter. Sonia worked as a teacher in a private school, while her husband is engaged in the tour and travel business.After the incident, the accused fled the scene. The crime came to light when Sonia's brother, unable to reach her on the phone for several hours, grew suspicious and visited her residence, where he found her lying dead inside the house. Police were immediately informed and reached the spot, while a forensic team was also called in to collect evidence. The body has been sent to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. In his complaint to the Civil Lines police station, the victim's brother has alleged the involvement of his brother-in-law and his family members. The victim's sister alleged that Sonia was frequently harassed over dowry demands and was often targeted amid ongoing family disputes.
Family members also claimed that there were previous instances of violence, including an attempt to strangle her a few months ago, which was later settled through a local panchayat. Tensions over property disputes within the family are also suspected to have contributed to the crime. Police officials said the matter is being investigated.
