The Election Commission of India has confirmed that Mizoram will hold elections for its only Rajya Sabha seat on June 18. The current representative's term expires on July 19. Prospective candidates can submit their nominations starting June 1 until June 8, with scrutiny occurring on June 9 and the option to withdraw by June 11.
On Wednesday night, near Thaizawl in Mizoram, a truck driver from Silchar faced a harrowing encounter. As he journeyed towards Lawngtlai, two assailants ambushed him, using knives in a violent attack that left him injured. They made off with cash and important documents. Authorities are now on the lookout, exploring various leads to uncover the identity of the culprits.
