Kudroli temple panel calls new committee announcement invalid

Mangaluru: Following the announcement of new office-bearers to the management committee of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Kshetra for 2026–27 by Akhila Bharatha Billava Union Friday, the existing committee managing the temple said the move was invalid and not backed by any court directive.Addressing reporters on the temple premises Saturday, Padmaraj R said no court had issued any order regarding the temple committee and accused some individuals of spreading false information. He said the temple belongs to the community.The present committee was making sincere efforts to ensure that the temple becomes a community temple under Akhila Bharatha Billava Union in the future, he said.Padmaraj said that although the Supreme Court had earlier ruled in favour of the Billava union and issued directions concerning the temple, the union had not taken responsibility for administration, festivals or religious programmes. According to him, the current management board continues to oversee temple festivals and related activities.
