Police get 5 segways for lake, market patrolling

Nagpur: The city police commissionerate has received five segways (balancing scooters) for effective patrolling in lake and market areas.The initiative was undertaken under the guidance of CP Ravinder Singal, municipal commissioner Vipin Itankar, joint commissioner of police Navinchandra Reddy and additional commissioner of police (Northern Division) Rajendra Dabhade. DCP (Zone C-1) Rishikesh Reddy made this possible.The segways, provided by Mihan India Limited, have been allocated to police stations at Sonegaon, Sitaburdi, Ambazari, Tehsil and Sakkardara. They will be deployed specifically at Sonegaon, Ambazari, Futala lakes, Sitaburdi market, Sakkardara Tajbagh area and Tehsil-Itwari market.Police personnel have undergone training for operating these modern mobility devices. During patrolling, officers will make public announcements to manage crowds and ensure smooth movement in busy locations.
