Woman murders husband in Salem
SALEM: The Ammapet police in Salem on Thursday arrested a 40-year-old woman on charges of murdering her husband. The murdered man has been identified as V Thangam, 40, of Seikizhar Street in Ammapet. He often returned home drunk and argued with his wife, Padma. The couple had three children, police said.On Wednesday night, Thangam returned home drunk and picked up a quarrel with Padma. “He assaulted her before falling asleep,” said Ammapet police inspector Muruga Raja. While Thangam was sleeping, Padma allegedly struck on his head with a grinding stone. He died on the spot.The Ammapet police registered a case and arrested Padma.
