Man held for assault during temple music festival

Thiruvananthapuram: Vattiyoorkavu police arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly attacking a youth during a music festival at a temple in Vellakadavu.The accused was identified as Santhosh Kumar alias Poomani Santhosh, of Vazhottukonam, Puthenveedu. The incident occurred on March 22. According to police, the accused assaulted the complainant, who was attending the festival, by trampling him and striking his head with an iron rod. He also attacked another youth who intervened. Police said the accused was involved in at least three assault cases registered at Vattiyoorkavu and Vanchiyoor stations. Efforts are on to trace the remaining accused. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
