Visakhapatnam: 22-year-old delivery executive, Puvvula Manikanta, targeted locked houses while delivering groceries in parts of the district, with his primary motivation going beyond delivering groceries on time. He was also on the lookout for locked houses to target later. Manikanta broke into locked houses during the daytime in parts of the Bobbili, Badangi and Seethanagaram localiteis in the district and fled with valuables.However, his luck ran out as he was caught by the police when he was roaming near the Mettavalasa locality to strike again. The investigation has revealed that Manikanta identifies the locked houses while delivering the goods during the daytime. He strikes at the locked houses during the daytime only.The police said Manikanta is a native of Rompilli village under Ramabhadrapuram mandal in the district. He took the crime route in 2023 for his vices and was involved in more than ten property offences. He used to sell the stolen property to K Baleswara Rao, a gold merchant in Saluru. The police recovered around 200 gms of gold ornaments from the duo, and further investigation is underway.
