Hisar: Haryana is likely to witness intense heat conditions nover the next few days, with the weather expected to remain largely dry till May 29, according to professor Madan Khichar, head of the department of agricultural meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University.
The department said southwesterly hot winds are likely to prevail across the state during this period, leading to a further rise in day temperatures and increasing the possibility of heatwave conditions in several areas.
However, a change in weather is expected from the night of May 29 onwards. Meteorologists predicted the movement of a western disturbance towards the Himalayan region along with the formation of a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan. Due to its partial impact, most parts of Haryana may witness partly cloudy conditions between May 29 night and June 1.
During this period, dust-laden winds, thunder activity, drizzle and light rainfall are likely at isolated places across the state. The department also forecast a slight dip in daytime temperatures, which may provide temporary relief from the prevailing heat.
The department advised farmers and the general public to remain cautious and keep track of weather updates in view of the changing conditions.
