Kolhapur: Deputy chairperson of state legislative council Neelam Gorhe has asked state govt to get best possible medical care and treatment at free of cost to the 11-year-old daughter who suffered harasment from her father.
A man hung his nine-year-old and 11-year-old daughters on the suspicion of theft in Banpuri village at Atpadi tehsil. While the nine year old died, the 11-year-old has survived. but has suffered bruises of the attacks."The survivor should get best possible medical care. The govt should get the treatment done on its own expenses. The govt must ensure special provision for rehabilitation of the child. The Sangli District Woman and Child Development Officer has been asked to prepare ‘social investigation report' and take lead in rehabilitation of the girl. The children protection committee's should be strengthened to avoid such incidents in rural areas. The parents must be counselled to stop kids from harassment," said Gorhe in a statement.
She has made the demands to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis who also is a home minister. The deputy chairperson spoke to 11-year-old girl through video conferencing and gave her support and strength. Gorhe assured help in her education and provide her clothes and food.
Gorhe spoke to assistant police inspector Vinay Bahir. She asked to find out strong evidences against the father, file the chargesheet as soon as possible and seek the trial in fast track court.
The police custody of the 35-year-old father ended on Sunday. He has now sent to magisterial custody.
