Elderly woman hurt in wild elephant attack in Wayanad

Kozhikode: An elderly woman sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a wild elephant at Moodakolli in Wayanad. The woman, Thankamma (80) from Vakeri Moodakolli Kaithaveli, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kozhikode. The incident occurred around 7am on Sunday when Thankamma encountered the elephant while standing in the courtyard of her house. The animal charged at her, lifted her with its trunk and threw her aside. She suffered a fractured leg along with other external injuries. She was initially admitted to a private hospital in Sulthan Bathery and later shifted to a hospital in Kozhikode for further treatment.
