Patna: As many as 2,438 candidates were selected by employers on the opening day of the three-day ‘State-Level Health and Allied Sector Job Fair 2026’ being held at Gyan Bhawan in Patna.
Organised by the Bihar Skill Development Mission under the youth, employment and skill development department, the fair has drawn over 62,000 online registrations. Around 100 companies are participating, offering nearly 20,000 vacancies in the health and allied sectors. More than 13,000 youths from across Bihar attended the inaugural day on Monday.
The event was inaugurated by minister Arun Shankar Prasad and department secretary Kaushal Kishore.
Addressing the gathering, the minister described the fair as a major platform connecting Bihar’s youth with employment opportunities. He said the initiative aligned with the chief minister’s ‘Saat Nischay-3’ vision aimed at providing skills, dignified jobs and better income opportunities to young people.
Leading healthcare institutions, including Medanta, Apollo, Paras, Ruban, Akhand Jyoti and Portia Hospitals, along with international placement agencies such as Blue Seas Talent LLP, Magic Billion, Care 24 and Emperand International Mobility, are participating in the fair.
Kishore said this was the first large-scale centralised job fair in Bihar dedicated exclusively to the health sector. He added that the department planned to organise six to seven sector-specific job fairs every year.
The fair will continue till May 27.
