Pune: Ravindra Jadhav, 45, a resident of Jadhavwadi near Navlakh Umbre village in Maval taluka, was found murdered near his house on Monday. The police have arrested Jadhav's nephew on the charge of murder.
The Pimpri Chinchwad police said that Jadhav's murder was the fallout of a dispute over land with his relatives. "Jadhav's nephew and his three accomplices were involved in the murder," an officer from the Pimpri Chinchwad police said.
A case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered against the accused with the Talegaon MIDC police.
An officer from the Talegaon MIDC police said that the murder happened in the early hours of Monday. The accused assaulted Jadhav with sharp weapons and later smashed his head with a big stone. " We have arrested Jadhav's nephew. Search is on for the three accused involved in the murder," the officer said.
He said Jadhav and his relatives had a dispute over 1 acre land. Also, Jadhav and his nephew recently had a dispute over sharing of Rs 5 lakh, which they got for allowing their land to lay a pipeline, he said.
