Amid the confusion, the two men hastily swapped positions, with the shooter trying to start the vehicle while his accomplice took control. As angry bystanders began closing in to apprehend them, one of the assailants pulled out a pistol and pointed it directly at the crowd, forcing them to back off.Moments later, the motorcycle engine roared to life, allowing the duo to speed away from the spot, leaving behind panic and chaos.

Mirzapur superintendent of police Aparna Rajat Kaushik said that the victim and the accused are residents of the same village and had a prior dispute over village matters. “A case has been registered. Police teams are engaged in searching for the accused,” she said.
